This challenge is designed for anyone and everyone! With the challenge of covering as few as 21 miles a week and with an available relay option for all teams, anyone in your family can participate. You can also encourage family members to join you to help you achieve your goal. You can run/bike/walk/swim from anywhere to participate.
Your inherent reward is that you are improving yourself while supporting those in need of food. All challenges will also receive a limited edition Manhattan to Montauk T-Shirt - unisex OR female-specific. In addition, all will receive a gorgeous Custom Medal to proudly display your accomplishment. And each challenger will receive a virtual challenge bib that can be downloaded from the race page, participation in an active leaderboard, live map tracking along our course and a digital finisher's certificate with all your stats! We will also be promoting random prizes throughout the challenge to help make it more fun - and keep you more connected with other participants!
We will start processing your race packet once registration for your wave closes (one month after the wave starts). It usually takes between 8-10 weeks from that date to receive your packet.
You can complete it any way you wish. You can walk, roll, run, spin - whatever makes you happy! And you can cover your miles any day, and in any way, that best works for you.
You can start recording miles anytime after your wave begins and you will have two months in total to complete your challenge. But the later you start, the more challenging your challenge will be!
The waves are as follows, you can input results starting the first day through the last day as shown. We then give you about 2 weeks to finalize any activity input before the Wave closes.
Wave 1 - begins September 7, 2020 and ends November 7, 2020
Wave 2 - begins October 7, 2020 and ends December 27, 2020
Wave 3 - begins November 7, 2020 and ends January 7, 2021
Wave 4 - begins December 7, 2020 and ends February 7, 2021
January 2021 - begins January 1, 2021 and ends March 1, 2021
February 2021 - begins February 1, 2021 and ends April 1, 2021
March 2021 - will begin March 1, 2021 and ends May 1, 2021
This challenge relies on the honor system. We do encourage you to take photos of your watch, phone screen, treadmill, etc to share your results and/or activity on the Facebook Challengers' page.
These are the ways you can track and prove your accomplishment:
1. Go to ManhattanMontauk.com Submit your activity updates via the RESULTS page.
Go to the "Results" tab on the Menu. At the top of the page, it will say "Post your Virtual Results". Hit the Blue "Submit Virtual Results" button. Search for you name and follow the steps!
2. Join our Manhattan to Montauk Facebook Group. You can upload photos of your activity and also connect with other challengers.
